Chancellor sets up high-level panel to suggest reforms for vexed varsity teachers’ recruitment

Patna — Bihar Lok Bhavan has constituted a high-level committee to suggest reforms in the recruitment process for assistant professors in state universities, which has been mired in controversies, leading to hundreds of court cases.
The Lok Bhawan has constituted the committee in pursuance of the agreement reached between the Governor and the fasting students agitating under the banner of 'All Ph.D. Holders. and Research Association' on August 24, 2026.
The committee, as per the Lok Bhawan notification issued by Dipak Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary to the Governor, will examine the existing system of recruitment of assistant professors and suggest comprehensive reforms in their recruitment process for the state universities of Bihar.
